I only did mushrooms twice in the 70s and I had a long tail of flashbacks and feel I had disturbed mental state for some considerable time.

It's wrong to go from the particular to the general but I cannot but believe in neuroplasticity after my own experience.

That said, if I had end-of-life anxiety I probably would think about the mushroom assisted "acceptance" thing, with due care and attention.
