Maybe I have an insufficient IQ, but I can't figure out what paper the site is referring to, so I may be missing something in the premise.
IQ tests are mostly puzzles, which makes them susceptible to quite a bit of error, based on how practiced the subject is with puzzle solving.
I would suspect there is a very strong correlation between being introverted and both enjoying puzzles and having difficulty with our extrovert-oriented society.
Also, most of the population suffers from anxiety and depression, so it may have more to do with being human that scoring high on an IQ test.
